About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Government Affairs Manager to join our team at Novelis in the UK. As a key member of our Government Affairs team, you will be responsible for influencing UK and EU legislation, regulation, and policy debates to secure benefits and minimize risks to our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive implementation of Novelis' government affairs strategy with focus on UK affairs, UK/EU relationships, and circularity/decarbonization.
  • Create and cultivate network with, and expand Novelis' outreach to, UK stakeholders.
  • Support Novelis UK for external relations to industry and media and for communications in case of crisis.
  • Participate and represent Novelis' interests in relevant industry associations.

Requirements

  • A higher education and advanced degree in public policy, political science, law, or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years' experience in public policy, legislative affairs, lobbying, or applicable areas related to recycling/sustainability.
  • Strong network of contacts in the UK. Demonstrated interest and working knowledge in policy issues such as circular economy, climate, and trade.
  • Strategic mindset, strong relationship management capabilities, and demonstrated success in proactively building and working collaboratively with strategic alliances, coalitions, trade groups, etc.
