Job Title: Outreach Tutor

Ackerman Pierce is seeking an experienced Outreach Tutor to provide individualized support to students with complex needs.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary position with the potential for extension, requiring 6 hours of work per day, 5 days a week. The successful candidate will deliver math and English functional skills to students with SEMH needs, utilizing differentiated instruction and effective behavior management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver individualized tutoring sessions to students with complex needs.
  • Implement tailored instruction to meet the learning needs and abilities of each student.
  • Utilize evidence-based behavior management strategies to promote positive learning experiences.
  • Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment, addressing SEMH complexities.
  • Collaborate with Ackerman Pierce and other stakeholders to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Availability during school hours, up to 30 hours per week.
  • Experience in delivering the National Curriculum core subjects to students with complex and challenging needs.
  • Knowledge and experience with SEMH, ASC, MLD, and SpLD educational requirements.
  • Proven exceptional behavior management techniques.
  • Willingness to work face-to-face within the community.
Qualifications:
  • Background in teaching English, Maths, Science, or SEN classes at KS1-KS5.
  • QTS status (or equivalent) preferred, or unqualified with at least two years of experience teaching National Curriculum core subjects.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a UK school setting, specifically with students having SEMH, ASD, EBD, and associated complex needs.
