Mechanical Analyst

At Sulzer, we are seeking a talented Mechanical Analyst to support our design team in Leeds, UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and compiling mechanical analysis documentation to clients, ensuring the mechanical, rotor dynamic, and structural integrity of our products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Sales & Tendering Departments for new and varied pump and package designs
  • Providing advice and support to Design Engineers to determine requirements for rotor dynamic design calculations and structural FE investigations
  • Pressure boundary FE analysis
  • Design reports in relation to all Mechanical Integrity and Design Validation assessments
  • Support to the Service Division, where mechanical analysis and/or assessments are required (e.g. pump retrofits and upgrades)

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Degree Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant experience within related industry including knowledge of industry practices & standards
  • Relevant experience within related industry ideally Oil and Gas
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of rotor dynamics (lateral and torsional)
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and Analytical skills
  • Excellent Customer service skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent attention to detail skills
