Job Summary:
This is a temporary role as an absence cover for a Safeguarding and Welfare Officer at a Good graded OFSTED College. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of students, including dealing with college safeguarding concerns, liaising with external agencies, and maintaining accurate records.
About the College:
The College is a leading provider of academic, vocational, and apprenticeship courses, with a commitment to opportunity and equality for all. They strive to build the skills of their students to prepare them for Higher Education or their chosen careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dealing with college safeguarding concerns, including referrals and liaison with external agencies
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date safeguarding records
- Ensuring all students have access to support where required
- Attending meetings for cared-for children
- Providing support and guidance to students and staff
Requirements:
- An enhanced DBS check, within one year, and checked against the child's barred list
- Experience working with young adults, preferably in the Further Education sector
- Level 3 Safeguarding Qualification
- Available to work on-site, full-time
