About the Role

This is a critical position within Network Rail, responsible for directing and inspiring a team involved in the daily upkeep of the rail network.

As a Team Leader, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of work, establishing safety arrangements, and proactively controlling and checking the quality of work and the competence of your team.

You will work with a range of technical skills across manual, electrical, and digital equipment, including signals, level crossings, and points systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and control the safe and efficient delivery of work
  • Direct, organise, and motivate a high-performing team
  • Establish and maintain safety arrangements
  • Proactively control and check the quality of work and the competence of your team

Requirements

  • Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal techniques
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions
