About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at Jisc. As a key member of our Privacy team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization's compliance with the UK GDPR and other relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with the UK GDPR and other relevant legislation.
  • Advise on a full range of data privacy matters, including regulatory compliance, data protection impact assessments, privacy notices, data subject requests, contracts, and GDPR compliance.
  • Liaise with business process owners on the data protection aspects of Jisc's business initiatives and activities.
  • Act as technical privacy SME for transformation and other Jisc projects, providing tailored, practical data protection advice and guidance to the project team(s).
  • Monitor compliance and data practices internally to ensure business areas and functions comply with the applicable requirements under the UK GDPR and other relevant legislation.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting and developing data protection processes and organizational policy recommendations.
  • Experience of building strong relationships and networks.
  • A practitioner certificate in data protection or similar qualification.
  • Qualifications in OneTrust modules, particularly Data Mapping and Assessment, or equivalent.
