About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at HDR. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering civil engineering projects from concept to completion. You will work closely with our engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, and specifications, and support project managers in undertaking tasks on a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project delivery, technical requirements, and scope of works, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and completion deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor resource relative to each project monthly allowable fee expenditure, defining monthly Civil 3D/CAD requirements and two-weekly engineering workload forecasts.
  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender, and contract on-site supervision to completion.
  • Ensure all design projects and reports within the group are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
  • Client and design team liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals, financial control of projects when acting as a project manager, and undertaking business development.
  • Develop new business opportunities where appropriate and participate with company presentations.
  • Motivate yourself and manage staff within the group to build coherent high-performing teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or relevant subject.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer (IEng/CEng MICE) or working towards this.
  • Minimum 4yrs experience in designing and managing civil engineering projects within a design consultancy.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Able to undertake computer modeling, organize and direct the production of Civils 3D and CAD/Revit drawings, and correspond effectively with opposite numbers from other disciplines.
