About the Role:

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading business driving the UK towards its net zero targets. We're looking for a skilled Plant Operator to join an anaerobic digestion plant in Dungannon, where waste is processed to generate renewable gas.

This role comes with a competitive salary of £26,500, rising to over £28,000 after probation, and an impressive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the renewable energy asset, with training provided for those new to the sector
  • Perform routine checks and logging of findings
  • Carry out basic maintenance activities, such as greasing and cleaning of equipment
  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities on site
  • Test the biology of the plant to optimize gas yield
  • Assist contractors on site with key work
  • Learn about the process and running the plant from a SCADA system
  • Weigh lorries and log data from the weighbridge
  • Keep the site clean and tidy

Requirements:

  • A telehandler license is preferred but not essential
  • A NVQ 2 or above in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred but not essential

Personal Qualities:

  • A genuine interest in agriculture, process plants, and hands-on work
  • Comfortable working outdoors and potentially around smelly waste
