About Our Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join our European Accounting Team at our Grangemouth office.

The successful candidate will lead a team of 17 people and be responsible for co-ordinating the day-to-day financial accounting for 23 legal entities, including VAT, capex and payroll accounting. They will also co-ordinate the monthly group reporting in Hyperion consolidation system for 63 entities, 150 business units.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordinating the preparation and review of annual and interim statutory accounting reporting for a number of legal entities including consolidated accounts and ensuring bank covenant compliance.
  • Providing technical support to businesses to ensure reporting is in line with IFRS and UK GAAP as well as group reporting standards.
  • Maintaining good relationships with business controllers and group teams.
  • Understanding the structure of companies within the INEOS group, interaction between entities, and impact on overall profitability.
  • Providing input and support as required to special and one-off projects, such as acquisition integration.

About You

We are looking for a Qualified Accountant with significant post-qualifying experience in Financial Accounting/Reporting roles within multinational organisations.

Key requirements include:

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of financial standards including IFRS, FRS 101, FRS 102, and UK GAAP.
  • SIGNIFICANT experience in statutory reporting and audit procedures.
  • Understanding principles of strong internal control.
  • Experience working within shared service environments.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships internally and externally, such as with company auditors, banks, HMRC, etc.
  • Acquisition experience, including integration into businesses and preparation of complex acquisition/PPA journals.
  • Management of general ledger, month-end close, and consolidation.
  • Experience with balance sheet and cash flow analysis, balance sheet recs, and in-depth analysis.
  • Taxation experience, including tax computation preparation.
  • Technical experience, including IFRS 16, working tax digital, etc.
  • Good knowledge of SAP modules and how they interact.
  • Experienced user of MS Office applications, i.e., Excel.
