Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant to support children with special educational needs in a primary school setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating engaging learning experiences and making a positive impact on pupils' life outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to students with special educational needs, promoting inclusivity and understanding.
  • To develop and implement effective individualized plans, breaking down complex learning content into manageable chunks that foster engagement and progress.
  • To create a warm and supportive learning environment that encourages social and emotional growth, empathy, and self-awareness.
  • To work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure seamless communication and a cohesive approach to meeting pupil needs.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working with children with special educational needs, with a proven track record of making a positive impact.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs support, such as SENCO certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting changing demands.
