We're seeking a skilled Senior C++ Application Developer to join our Milton Keynes-based Software Development team, supporting the Contact Centre team. This role is hybrid, with half of your time spent in the office.

This position plays a crucial part in the Connells Group IT team, focusing on leading the development, support, and enhancements of business systems using .NET technologies and SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create secure, high-performing n-tier applications by applying best practices in database application development using SQL.
  • Implement secure and efficient integrations with internal or third-party systems using various approaches based on the technology stack.
  • Maintain adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other Application Developers on projects or work alongside them as needed.
  • Contribute to improving the overall development processes and methodologies within the engineering team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in C++ programming.
  • Strong knowledge of C#.
  • Familiarity with WinForms and Microsoft Foundation Class.
  • Excellent skills in SQL Server.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn, adapt, and advance team best-practices, procedures, and qualitative standards.
  • Experienced in handling user issues and frustrations in high-pressure environments.
  • Will to own issues and drive them to completion, communicating effectively and promptly throughout.
  • Good team collaboration, including sharing and presenting new ideas and approaches.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of REST API principles.
  • Proven experience in unit testing both new and legacy applications.
