Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to join our team at Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health systems across our assets on the Hs2 London Tunnels.

Main Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Manage a site team, including subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party contractors, ensuring implementation of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Project Development: Develop the design, construction methodology, program, and cost for MEP projects, preparing for delivery, including resources, procurement, consents, and pre-start documentation.
  • Team Supervision: Manage, supervise, train, and mentor the site team to optimize their work contribution and ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver projects successfully.
  • Contract Management: Review contractual agreements, develop detailed site-specific programs, and forecast budgets, assessing actual program and productivity achieved and reporting changes to the Project Manager and QS department.
  • Subcontractor Management: Be fully conversant with subcontractor contract conditions, assist in developing job-specific subcontract conditions, and manage subcontractor accounts with the QS team.
  • Communication: Communicate non-conformances and instructions received from the client, designer, RE's staff, and other stakeholders to the Project Manager, QA, and QS teams.
  • Site Diary: Maintain a full and accurate daily site diary, including changes, variations, subcontractor attendance, and records of work-related discussions with clients, designers, and project teams.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements for the control of works are implemented and adhered to, and that the Construction Team, Subcontractors, and Suppliers receive or have access to relevant Health and Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Internal and External Liaison: Liaise with the Project Manager, Design and Engineering Team, QA team, and Cost Control, as well as external stakeholders, including HS2, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Stakeholders, to coordinate works and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar level role, responsible for the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health systems, including management, procurement, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Qualifications: Professional qualification or degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Fire/Telecommunications Engineering or a related subject.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practice, as well as NEC construction contracts, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other integrated team members and external stakeholders.
  • Computer Competence: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, and AutoCAD.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adjust communication style to suit the receiver, and relevant CSCS Card and SMSTS/SSSTS qualifications.
