We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Youth Development Manager to lead our Targeted Youth Services team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support services to young people, addressing specific issues and barriers to education, training, and employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of youth development professionals to deliver targeted support services to young people.
- Develop and implement delivery plans that provide information, advice, and guidance to support young people's needs, views, and aspirations.
- Ensure the achievement of defined contractual targets related to enabling the development of skills in young people.
- Provide supervision and practical support to staff, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and protocols.
- Manage staff to facilitate the process of meeting the needs of young people, reflecting on professional practice to achieve continuous improvement in performance.
- Collaborate with senior school-based staff, social care, SEND, Youth Offending Service, and other stakeholders to influence the type of interventions delivered to provide wider support to young people.
- Influence and negotiate with stakeholders to meet economic and young people's needs, identifying and informing gaps in education and training provision.
- Advocate with parents/carers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level and/or possess a relevant professional qualification, such as IAG L6 or equivalent.
- Proven track record of managing staff and implementing external funded contracts.
- Strong leadership and management skills, driving a highly performing and motivated team from diverse backgrounds.
- Broad understanding of the issues affecting young people, opportunities for learning, and the services provided by partner organizations.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the current local offers of support to young people that may facilitate their reintegration.
- Proven experience of supporting, motivating, and aspiring young people into EET opportunities or positive activities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relate to staff, partner agencies, and young people in a purposeful and responsive manner.
- Flexible approach with excellent time management skills and ability to work creatively in response to staff and young people's needs.
