Key ResponsibilitiesAs a forward-thinking, student-focused institution, we are seeking a Care Support Coordinator to join our Student Support Welfare Team across our college locations. This role is vital in aiding the Post 16 children in care under the Virtual School Kent's supervision. The primary objective is to ensure these students excel in their educational journey, personal growth, and overall achievement.
The successful candidate will conduct regular mentoring sessions for young individuals in care, facilitating their educational aspirations and goals.
This position involves organizing Personal Education Planning meetings (PEPs) to ensure that this cohort of students makes significant progress in their studies while collaborating closely with the education officer at Virtual Schools Kent.
The role requires engagement with a multidisciplinary safeguarding team in a dynamic office setting, addressing complex and sensitive matters, and providing guidance to additional resources as necessary.

This position is initially offered as a fixed-term contract, comprising 35 hours per week during term time.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
Essential Skills Include:
- Proficiency in IT systems and applications;
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Outstanding organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail;
- Capacity to engage sensitively with young individuals, parents, and visitors, some of whom may be anxious;
- A collaborative team player who can work systematically in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
