We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled financial leader to join our team as a Director of Finance at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of the Trust's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with our overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and advice to the Trust's Executive Team, ensuring effective financial management and decision-making.
- Oversee the management of the Trust's financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Trust's Board, Executive Team, and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, laws, and standards, including those related to financial governance and risk management.
- Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with the Trust's overall business objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Finance Directorate, ensuring effective management and development of staff.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure effective financial management and decision-making across the Trust.
- Proven experience as a senior financial leader in a large and complex healthcare organization.
- Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to contribute to major investment programs.
- Ability to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to bring about change and service improvements.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions, with a strong understanding of financial governance and risk management.
- Proven experience of developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
