About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Procurement Specialist to join our team at Hawk 3 Talent Solutions. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing of technical goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and sustain professional relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and continuity of supply.
  • Assist in building a supplier database to support the business.
  • Identify and source components based on quality and price.
  • Collect data and report supplier KPIs, manage non-conformance, and continually improve across the supply chain.
  • Work closely with our Technical Department to support ongoing projects on all aspects of procurement.
  • Understand price analysis and interrogate suppliers' prices to determine value for money.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers and subcontractors to expedite deliveries, ensuring promised shipment dates are met and disruptions to our production schedule are minimized.
  • Comply with Management System requirements for Health and Safety, ensuring others work to company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with the management systems requirement for the Environment and Quality by working to company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required.
Requirements
  • A proven background in buying electrical and mechanical components in the engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Professional Certifications / Member of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply).
  • Proficiency in negotiation at all levels, with a track record of securing favourable terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, knowledge of SAP would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • A systematic, logical, and organized approach to managing a high-volume workload.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain professionalism, particularly during urgent and critical procurement situations.
  • Ability to provide quality information within deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
What We Offer
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, with office hours between 8.30 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday.
  • 24 days holiday + bank holidays, free parking, death in service benefit, company pension, and Employee Wellbeing programme.
