About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to support students with diverse needs in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). The successful candidate will work alongside teachers to provide tailored support, helping students overcome barriers to learning.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting teachers in delivering lessons across a broad curriculum. You will also provide one-to-one and small group support for students with various learning needs and behavioral challenges.

Fostering a safe and nurturing environment is essential. You will build positive relationships with students, helping them improve their confidence and self-esteem. Your support will enable students to manage their behavior and emotions, promoting positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in lesson delivery, engaging students with learning materials
  • Provide individual and small group support for students with complex needs
  • Foster a supportive environment, promoting positive relationships with students
  • Help students manage behavior and emotions, using strategies for positive outcomes

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Adaptability, flexible working across different key stages (KS1-KS4)
  • Commitment to inclusion, supporting vulnerable students
