About the Position

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Student Mental Health Advisor to join our Student Wellbeing Team at Coventry University. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to students experiencing mental health difficulties or dual diagnosis issues.

In this role, you will manage a caseload, providing one-to-one support and making referrals to external specialist services as needed. You will also contribute to the development and delivery of workshops on student mental health and work with the Welfare and Wellbeing team to ensure students can access suitable support.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting, including crisis intervention and policy management. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of this service.

Essential Requirements:

  • Education to degree level (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline such as Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Health, Psychology, or Counselling
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team in the NHS/local authority and in a clinical capacity within a mental health setting
  • Ability to manage difficult and sensitive situations, crisis intervention, and policy management
