Job Title: SEN Teacher

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team at GSL Education. As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students with special needs on a 1:1 or group basis. You will need to be able to identify students going into crisis mode and follow the Behaviour Support System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching students with special needs on a 1:1 or group basis.
  • Identifying students going into crisis mode and following the Behaviour Support System.
  • Marking, assessing work, and tracking pupil progress.
  • Developing and adapting conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Collaborating with Teaching Assistants to define appropriate activities for pupils in relation to the curriculum.
  • Being knowledgeable about warning signs and triggers.
  • Following Education Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met.

Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • 6 months experience working in special needs or alternative provisions.
  • Experience teaching students with Autism or specialising in Autism.
  • Previous working experience with Educational Psychology services, CAMHS, or Therapists.
  • Ability to quickly engage and build rapport with pupils through creative learning.
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, and the ability to lead by example.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to complete one through GSL Education.
