About the Role:

In our Underwriting team, based in Glasgow, we are looking for a skilled Underwriting and Risk Analyst to join our team. This role is part of our SME Underwriting team and will focus on the GEH business. Your key responsibilities will include discussing contract performance with client managers, supporting quotes and renewals activity, and identifying financial risks. You will work closely with the Underwriting Team to develop a detailed understanding of the international business unit.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review case-specific risk assessments for GEH
  • Negotiate terms with Sales and Client Management teams
  • Monitor account earnings plans to achieve growth and profitability
  • Support portfolio management by analysing performance and providing detailed feedback
  • Support Experience Underwriters with large group cases
  • Manage complex schemes and partnerships
  • Mentor junior members of staff
  • Provide monthly reports to key stakeholders

Requirements:

This role requires a high level of numeracy, strong negotiating and organisational skills, and a good understanding of business processes and systems. You will also need to have good business and product knowledge, influencing skills, and attention to detail. As an Underwriting and Risk Analyst, you will work closely with the Underwriting Team and other departments, including Sales, Finance, Actuarial, Systems, and Legal services.
