Job Overview:
At Semester, we are seeking a dedicated Childcare Sector Support Specialist to join our team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This exciting opportunity is part of the National Wraparound Project, which aims to enhance early years and childcare settings.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of new and expanded childcare provisions, monitoring and reporting on targeted funding, and ensuring parents and carers are aware of available services.

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of wraparound childcare, strong ICT skills with advanced Excel abilities for data management, and experience supporting professionals and the public to access services.

This is a temporary position starting ASAP, initially until 01/31/2025, with a likely extension beyond this date. The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and utilize data to identify gaps in service provision and inform plans for development.
  • Support for Provision Expansion: Assist in the development of new and expanded childcare services.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track progress of a targeted start-up fund and produce reports as required.
  • Collaboration: Work with partners, including schools, childcare providers, childminders, and parents, to ensure awareness of available services and support.
  • Customer Support: Field queries and share information about existing and new provision with parents, providers, and schools.
  • General Support: Contribute to improving childcare quality, workforce development, and training within the Early Years sector team.
