About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trust Doctor to join our team in Geriatrics/Peri-operative Medicine. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Orthopaedic team to provide timely access to surgery and ensure high standards are met. You will also attend Trauma Meetings, liaise with Anaesthetic colleagues, and participate in discharge planning and rehabilitation progress.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in local anaesthetic blocks and present educational sessions on peri-operative topics. You will also have the chance to get involved in service development, including audit and quality improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our team
  • Work closely with Orthopaedic team to provide timely access to surgery
  • Liaise with Anaesthetic colleagues and participate in discharge planning and rehabilitation progress
  • Develop skills in local anaesthetic blocks
  • Present educational sessions on peri-operative topics
  • Get involved in service development, including audit and quality improvement projects

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Completed two years of foundation year training or equivalent
  • Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
  • Clinical experience working in Healthcare of the Elderly and other acute medical posts
  • Qualification such as Diploma in Geriatric Medicine

Working Arrangements

The post holder will work Monday-Friday 0800-1730, taking part in 1 in 5 weekends (0800-1730) providing cover for the three Trauma and Orthopaedic Wards. Opportunities to supplement the post via additional shifts may be possible via the rota co-ordinator.

Salary

£65,000 - £85,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
