At Bitterne Park School, we are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This exciting opportunity involves working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality lessons and providing targeted support to students.

About the Role
  • This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • You will assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, adapting materials to meet individual student needs.

We offer a competitive salary of £29,000-£34,000 per annum, based on full-time equivalent. If you have a passion for education and a commitment to supporting student development, please apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing Student Needs: Work with teachers and SENCo to assess pupils' needs, using specialist skills to support individual or group learning across the curriculum.
  • Building Relationships: Develop supportive relationships with students, promoting respect, self-esteem, and a positive school ethos.
  • Teaching Cover: Provide class teaching cover (planned or unplanned) using lesson plans prepared by the teacher.

The successful candidate will have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, excellent knowledge of the national curriculum, and effective teaching strategies.
