Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy. This full-time position is set to start in October and will run until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role depending on performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in their understanding of mathematics, providing assistance in lessons, small group work, and one-to-one interventions.
  • Help plan and deliver targeted support sessions to students who may need additional help with key mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.
  • Work closely with the Maths department and class teachers to ensure students are making progress and achieving their full potential.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback and adapting learning strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist with exam preparation and revision sessions to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Contribute to creating a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and fosters a love for learning mathematics.
Requirements:
  • Maths graduate with a strong passion for education and a desire to inspire young minds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a thorough understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
