About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Service Owner to join our team at the Department for Business and Trade. As a key member of our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) directorate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our ambitious Technology Improvement Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the UK trade tariff, working closely with HMRC to enable importing and exporting to and from the UK.
  • Support business growth domestically and internationally through advisory, educational, and promotional content.
  • Help businesses meet regulations to operate safely and successfully, including licensing of controlled goods.
  • Enable teams in the department to have the greatest impact on the economy through technology and data platforms.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand how our platforms and services can support them to deliver the best outcomes for the UK economy.
  • Develop a long-term vision and objectives in a digital context.
  • Draw on user-centred design and data to inform high-quality products and services.
  • Manage and prioritize work and budgets for senior stakeholders with conflicting needs and demands.
