Principal Highways Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Highways Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our highways team, you will be responsible for leading and managing technical aspects of large-scale projects, ensuring they meet financial, quality, and timeframe objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage technical aspects of projects, including Active Travel Cycleways, Junction improvements, and Road Alignments.
  • Lead project management roles, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by the consultancy and the client's business.
  • Oversee project teams, including sub-contractors, to ensure work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilized.
  • Manage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and resolving any issues.
  • Provide technical advice to team members to support their delivery and professional development.
  • Ensure effective financial and project management controls are in place.
Requirements:
  • BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant experience, including supervision of elements of large, complex projects.
