Role Summary

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you will engage in meaningful interactions with suppliers, scrutinizing data, and promoting ongoing enhancements. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be vital in ensuring that the highest quality benchmarks are achieved while nurturing robust relationships with our esteemed suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead Product Qualification Initiatives at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
  • Address, manage, and resolve Quality challenges associated with supplier non-conforming components identified at assembly facilities, warehouses, or customers globally.
  • Guide suppliers in effectively managing non-conformance challenges.
  • Contribute to process enhancements.
  • Direct supplier root cause analyses and corrective actions through the Problem Resolution process.
  • Examine and resolve manufacturing capability challenges within the supply chain to guarantee business continuity.
  • Identify and advocate for cost reduction opportunities through collaboration with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business.
  • Evaluate existing and prospective suppliers to assess manufacturing capabilities and ensure quality systems are established.
  • Enhance supplier capabilities to meet both current and future demands.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to investigate potential product non-conformances.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Technical training or advanced education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and Quality Control processes.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Proven ability to collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of parts.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple problem investigations concurrently.
  • Self-driven attitude and accountability for projects
  • Ability to oversee Product and Process Qualifications and unforeseen Supplier Quality Issues from inception to resolution.
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and evaluation of inspection capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with critical components.
  • Proven history of applying Quality improvement methodologies and tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.
