The Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is undergoing significant changes, with a greater emphasis on community-based care.

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Senior Registered Learning Disability Nurse to promote the health and wellbeing of individuals in our community.

Our community nursing teams closely collaborate with local Primary Care Networks to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work to provide direct specialist clinical expertise, behavioral support, and access to developmental opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities and their families/carers.

We facilitate reasonable adjustments to enable people to access mainstream healthcare services, which best meets their health needs.

The multi-disciplinary teams, comprising Occupational Therapists, LD Nurses, Speech & Language therapists, Physiotherapists, and a specialist vision and hearing service, operate across five geographic localities within the County.

They collaborate with social care teams from Kent County Council (KCC) and LD teams within the Mental Health Trust (KMPT) to provide a coordinated and holistic service for individuals with learning disabilities.

Person SpecificationRequirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of community nursing experience
Qualifications
  • A health-related degree and evidence of relevant postgraduate development at level 6
Desirable Skills
  • Managing health-related projects and complex caseloads

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience and location.
