Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a young offenders institute. The successful candidate will support young people in overcoming barriers to learning and acquiring the Additional Services Provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young people in overcoming barriers to learning
  • Assist in the acquisition of the Additional Services Provision
  • Work alongside the classroom teacher to provide construction support
  • Mentor and coach young people to develop their skills and abilities
  • Establish and maintain high standards in learning and behaviour
  • Monitor and track learner progression

Requirements:

  • English and maths GCSE A-C or equivalent
  • Experience of supporting young people and related issues
  • Experience of providing construction support in a classroom setting
  • Experience of people management and development
  • Experience of maintaining systems relating to learner progression
