Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager

This role seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to provide critical support to the Accounting & Finance team in Bedford. With 2-3 direct reports, you will be responsible for streamlining processes and providing overall support to the wider finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Assign tasks and set performance goals: Ensure that the team meets deadlines and maintains accuracy in processing.
Accounts Payable Operations:
  • Oversee daily operations: Ensure invoices are processed accurately and timely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve payment runs: Including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Manage and resolve escalated issues: Related to invoice discrepancies, payment disputes, and vendor queries.
Vendor Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships: With vendors and ensure timely communication regarding payment schedules and discrepancies.
  • Negotiate payment terms: And manage vendor contracts where applicable.
  • Ensure accurate vendor records: Are maintained.
Requirements:
  • Similar previous role: Adopted experience in accounts payable management.
  • Proven team leading involvement: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations: And accounting processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills: Required for this role.
