Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with the financial team to manage and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization. This role involves applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), conducting analytical work, and reviewing financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and confirm alignment of expenditure coding with budgets and grant funding.
  • Complete bank account reconciliations and analyze activity.
  • Assist with providing required support for external financial audit.
  • Follow internal controls and recommend process improvement where needed to ensure accuracy and to maintain integrity of financial data.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as requested or assigned.
  • Assist with accounts receivable aging and collections.
  • Provide support to the Finance Team.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Abila MIP fund accounting software preferred.
  • Exhibits strong follow-up and follow-through capabilities, ensuring accuracy and precision in financial records and reports.
Education and Experience

Experience: 0-3 years of accounting work experience. Non-profit accounting experience preferred. Working knowledge of accounting software. Abila MIP Fund Accounting software knowledge a plus.

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

This role primarily involves working indoors, but occasional travel to business community locations may be required.
