IT Capacity and Demand Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Capacity and Demand Strategist to join our established Demand and Capacity Management team within IT Support at Nationwide Building Society.
The primary aim of this role is to ensure that our organization does not experience capacity-related unplanned IT service outages by understanding business demand for IT services, identifying resulting capacity requirements, and monitoring operational capacity utilization.
Key Responsibilities- Create strategic capacity plans for Nationwide's critical IT services, ensuring any risks and constraints are understood.
- Produce and review technical metrics and support the creation of capacity models to ensure that Nationwide's key services are capable of meeting business requirements in the short, medium, and long term.
- Ensure that data consumed and created by the Demand and Capacity processes is both accurate and relevant.
- Provide governance and quality assurance to the outputs and effectiveness of the Demand and Capacity function across all areas of IT to ensure consistency.
- Present on the effectiveness of the function to senior stakeholders, highlighting any risks to IT-provided services.
- Host Demand and Capacity forums attended by senior and critical stakeholders.
- Provide subject matter expertise advice, guidance, and education on best practice to users and stakeholders of the process.
- A broad business and technology background, gained from significant experience in a corporate environment.
- Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.
- Strong understanding of IT risk management.
- The ability to liaise with senior-level stakeholders effectively to communicate issues, risks, and opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels, including senior-level report writing.
- Good influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to prioritize demanding workloads and remain calm and objective under pressure.
- The ability to pay attention to detail, as well as a big-picture view.
- Awareness and understanding of ITIL.
- Awareness and understanding of the COBIT framework.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
