We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Regulation Team Leader to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of nuclear safety specialists in delivering defined work packages to support major programmes of strategic and international importance.

The Nuclear Safety and Regulation Department oversees the site's nuclear regulations. The team exists to provide specialist advice and services to the business with regards to nuclear/radiological safety standards and compliance, and the development of safety cases.

As a Nuclear Regulation Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance on nuclear safety and regulation. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing effective nuclear safety governance, assurance frameworks, and independent oversight capabilities.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on nuclear safety and regulation
  • Develop and implement effective nuclear safety governance, assurance frameworks, and independent oversight capabilities
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and deploy interface management arrangements
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the nuclear baseline and organizational change processes
  • Implement compliance operating models for nuclear/radiological safety and develop compliant nuclear management arrangements
  • Promote a strong nuclear safety culture through stewardship and leadership concepts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nuclear engineering, physics, chemistry)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear safety and regulation
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear safety legislation, licensing, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Ability to develop and implement effective nuclear safety governance, assurance frameworks, and independent oversight capabilities
