We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Category Manager to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing programmes for defined categories, across a number of NHS Trusts.
Main Duties of the Job- Develop and lead strategic sourcing programmes for defined categories, across a number of NHS Trusts.
- Take the lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories, and contribute significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key.
- Support the Category Director and team in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings across a large number of Member Trusts, by analysing current spend information to develop procurement strategies.
- Ensure contract compliance across the LPP, pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key.
- Work with the Category Director and team in developing networks by providing input into appropriate LPP projects, and liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance in the use of agreed standardised and compliant products and services.
NHS LPP is a membership organisation funded and governed by its members, and not Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. We develop and manage collaborative procurement projects on behalf of our members, including acute, community and mental health trusts, as well as CCGs. The organisation will continue to develop as a centre of commercial excellence that delivers significant and sustainable cost and service improvements to all stakeholders primarily in the London NHS economy but also outside London.
Person Specification- Registered full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
- Educated to degree level and above or equivalent in-depth experience
- Masters level qualified or equivalent in-depth experience
- Project Management (Prince 2 Practitioner)
- People Management - the ability to manage, influence and lead people who may or may not be direct reports.
- Time Management - the ability to manage and priorities project activities and the workload of the Business Unit
- Senior specialist A/I commercial / industry experience in procurement and supply in a senior management role
- Significant senior procurement experience
- Significant experience & understanding and application of strategic I sourcing methodologies
