AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Water Solutions team in the UK.

About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and industry-leading MEICA solutions to clients. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, process, and mechanical engineers, to design and deliver complex water and wastewater projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing feasibility studies, outline and detailed designs, and providing construction support for water and wastewater projects;
  • Creating design drawings, selecting mechanical plant, and preparing technical specifications;
  • Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to ensure high technical quality and meet project targets;
  • Managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to meet agreed targets;

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional with a degree in mechanical engineering and Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) in a relevant institution like IMechE. You should have extensive experience in water and wastewater projects, covering feasibility, design, and construction support.

The ideal candidate will be able to produce, check, and approve engineering reports, designs, drawings, and specifications, and possess strong client and stakeholder engagement skills. You will also be skilled in team leadership, mentoring, and line management.
