Job Title: Divisional Director of Nursing

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Divisional Director of Nursing to lead our nursing and allied health professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the nursing and allied health professionals in the Division, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality patient care and meet the Trust's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nursing and allied health professionals in the Division, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality patient care and meet the Trust's strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and experience.
  • Work closely with the Divisional Medical Director and Divisional Director of Operations to ensure that the Division's strategic objectives are met.
  • Ensure that the Division's nursing and allied health professionals are compliant with national standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement a robust system for monitoring and improving patient safety and quality.
  • Lead the Division's response to complaints and serious untoward incidents.
  • Develop and implement a culture that encourages innovation, creativity, and challenging in the interests of patient care and professional practice.
Requirements
  • Nursing/AHP Degree
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications or substantial equivalent experience
  • Significant experience at senior practitioner level, including strategy development, budgetary control, and clinical leadership
  • Evidence of high-level professional credibility
  • Experience of implementing governance structures and risk management
  • Experience of partnership working
  • Experience of facilitating and leading organisational change
  • Experience of multi-agency and system-wide working
  • Experience of managing high-level risk stratification
