Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to support the Ward Manager and team of nursing staff within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) / Acute Medical Assessment (AMA) and Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

The successful candidate will require extensive post-registration experience and be an experienced RGN with the ability to lead and assess the work of the nursing team, building upon their own clinical and managerial experience.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Support the Ward Manager with the continuous improvement of the department, effectively monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of care that are reflected by patient experience.
  • Assess and implement appropriate care for new and current patients, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained and resources used appropriately.
  • Supervise, manage, and control the activities of a department in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Participate in the teaching, training, and supervision of all grades of staff.
  • Be receptive to change, dynamic, and demonstrate active assistance and support to senior colleagues in the ongoing development of the department.
