We are seeking a seasoned Senior Third Party Risk Manager to join our team at Zopa, a pioneering fintech company redefining the banking experience. About the Role:
  • You will report directly to the Head of Operational Resilience and collaborate with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to ensure Zopa operates its third-party arrangements within risk appetite.
  • Enhance and implement robust third-party risk management procedures that align with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for material third parties, identifying risks and proposing proportionate controls through information from multiple sources.
  • Work closely with 1LOD risk teams, supplier relationship managers, and the Procurement team to design and implement effective controls, reporting on their effectiveness.
  • Deliver timely third-party risk MI and reporting, empowering accountable individuals to make informed, risk-based decisions.
  • Partner with the Procurement team to fully embed and gain value from our new supplier management tool.
  • Owning the Bank's outsourcing register.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to learn from the root causes of incidents or risk events caused by third-parties.
About You:
  • An experienced risk manager familiar with the retail banking environment and regulatory landscape, particularly in relation to third-party risk management.
  • A proven track record of managing third-party risk (ideally in the first line) in consultancy, fintech, or specifically within the financial services sector.
  • Good awareness of the regulatory framework governing Zopa's operations and a drive to self-educate and stay up-to-date on evolving Outsourcing and Critical Third Party regulations.
  • An outcome-oriented individual capable of applying the risk framework to propose optimal outcomes for customers and the bank.
  • A strong communicator able to articulate issues clearly, flagging trade-offs and solutions to gain buy-in to your proposals.
  • Possessing passion for improving the risk environment and general ways of working across teams.
  • Able to act as a source of knowledge and point of contact for business colleagues in your area, such as second-line risk and first-line counterparts.

  • Experience in implementing new risk procedures or significant changes to risk procedures.
  • Managing complex projects with diverse stakeholders.
