Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiarity with the pharmacy computer system, including its relation to stock management, and commitment to utilizing any new computer system introduced.
  • Overseeing the EDI catalogue, matching new products from the Pharmacy system, and amending matches as required due to contract changes.
  • Supporting the Pharmacy Homecare and Contracts Technician in maintaining good housekeeping related to outstanding orders, ensuring reports are run routinely, suppliers contacted for expected delivery dates, and old orders canceled on Bedford and verified with suppliers.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce costs within the Procurement process, rationalizing the supplier portfolio, reviewing supplier-added costs for transportation and Minimum Order Values.
  • Ensuring purchasing requirements for CTASU are ordered each week and any problems notified to CTASU as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy, particularly knowledge of Pharmacy Purchasing and Stock Management systems.
  • Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or Equivalent qualification.
