Aerodynamics Engineer Summer Placement Opportunity

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Aerodynamics Engineer for a 10-week summer placement. As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing missiles, including their various stages of development, and applying your knowledge of aerodynamics and propulsion to real-world engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop missiles, including concept, assessment, development, and in-service stages
  2. Apply and develop our bespoke tools alongside commercial software to evaluate the performance of airframes
  3. Stealth, propulsion, thermal, and structural aspects of missile design and how these foster a multi-disciplinary design approach
  4. Missile integration onto land, naval, and air platforms
  5. Integration of solid rocket motors and air-breathing engines into missile airframes, and assessment of their impact on missile aerodynamics and overall performance

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a candidate who is currently studying towards a degree in Aerospace engineering, Aeronautical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Production/Manufacturing engineering, Mathematics, or Physics discipline. Relevant aerodynamics and propulsion-based modules, such as Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Aircraft Performance, Flight Dynamics & Control, etc., are highly desirable.
