About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team as an Ecologist Project Manager. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking ecological field surveys, analyzing and interpreting survey results, and managing projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage projects, including resource allocation, subcontractor management, risk management, quality assurance, and client feedback.
  • Ecological Surveys: Lead and undertake ecological field surveys, analyzing and interpreting survey results.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Produce preliminary ecological appraisals, survey reports, license applications, Ecological Impact Assessments, and other similar documents.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other environmental disciplines, including environmental planning, archaeology, arboriculture, landscape architecture, and engineering.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified to degree level or equivalent in ecology or a related discipline.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Hold or be working towards protected species survey licenses and have experience of protected species Mitigation Licensing.
  • Skills and Experience: Have a full understanding of habitat survey and a broad knowledge of protected species survey, comfortable writing Ecological Impact Assessment reports, and understanding CIEEM methodology.
  • Technical Skills: Competent GIS skills, a full understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain assessment, and use of typical metric calculators.
