Job Opportunity: Test and Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Test and Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Critical Maritime Systems & Support Limited in Portsmouth. As a key member of our CMS2 team, you will be responsible for providing testing and commissioning services for our air purification equipment to the highest quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Set up, configure, and test complex process equipment to ensure compliance with customer standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Perform pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of high- and low-pressure vessels under PED compliance.
  3. Conduct electrical testing, including low and high voltage circuits, insulation resistance, and earth bond testing, using oscilloscopes to capture analogue and digital signals.
  4. Identify and troubleshoot electro-mechanical system faults, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  5. Develop and refine test methodologies, including prototyping, to enhance the quality and reliability of our equipment.
  6. Maintain an issues log to track lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Travel to various sites across the UK to support the Nuclear Program and occasionally abroad to support overseas customers.
  8. Adhere to 5S practices and ensure compliance with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
About You

To be considered for this role, you should:

  1. Hold an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or a relevant field, with a strong background in test and commissioning.
  2. Have previous experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably in process engineering.
  3. Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, environment, and quality.
  4. Possess excellent hands-on electrical and mechanical skills, with the ability to read and interpret process engineering drawings and specifications.
  5. Work efficiently as part of a team and under pressure in a challenging environment.
  6. Exhibit excellent attention to detail and be flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
  7. Be willing to travel occasionally, sometimes with short notice.
