Post Producer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Post Producer to join our team at Black Sheep Studios, a part of Publicis Groupe. As a Post Producer, you will play a key role in the post-production process, working closely with our team to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a network of freelance post-production talent, including editors, colourists, motion designers, sound engineers, and VFX artists.
  • Scope post-production on all projects, negotiating costs with suppliers to ensure alignment with the budget while maintaining a healthy profit margin.
  • Build and manage the post-production schedule, implementing a flexible approach to accommodate last-minute changes from agencies or clients.
  • Troubleshoot problems and complications, offering solutions while maintaining a calm and patient demeanor.
  • Quality control every round of edit to ensure it meets the original brief and all feedback has been addressed.
  • Track costs, spend, and profit on projects, updating the Executive Producer with progress.
  • Maintain and build solid relationships with agency producers and creatives, ensuring a positive experience for our clients.
  • Absorb and understand individual client brand guidelines and watch outs.
  • Manage the BSS Edit Suites, ensuring a booking system is in place and all assets are saved to the server and final films are saved to Google Drive.
  • Assist the Shoot Producer with sourcing hard drives and liaising with the DIT to ensure the Editor has all necessary information.
  • Attend relevant industry events and talks to stay up-to-date on post-production trends.

Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of post-production processes, from offline to online, for scoping and scheduling.
  • Ability to bring a network of freelance post-production talent to the table and continuously seek new talent to add to this network.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Positive and flexible attitude with a flair for problem-solving.
  • Working knowledge of all Adobe Creative Suite (setting up projects and troubleshooting technical issues).
  • Keen eye for detail to catch errors or missed feedback during the QC process.
  • Up-to-date understanding of post-production rates and costs to scope accurately.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure post-production talent within budget while maintaining a healthy profit margin.
  • High level of motivation and positive, friendly, and outgoing attitude.
  • Ability to update the BSS Vimeo and website with new projects showcasing BSS work.
