About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Submarines Weights Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Submarines Team, you will be responsible for calculating and monitoring weights and centres from project concept to vessel delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare data for technical and production departments to assist in the handling and transportation of units, subunits, modules, and rafts.
  2. Undertake functional design and/or provide specialist advice and qualification of their scope of responsibility and provide evidence for acceptance and fitness for purpose.
  3. Obtain confirmation beyond reasonable doubt by review, surveillance, and audit those assumptions, underpinning engineering data, analysis methodologies, and interpretation of results are valid.
  4. Produce evidence in support of qualification, legislative requirements, and safety justifications and provide specialist support for associated activities.
  5. Liaise with both internal and external customers as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.
Requirements

As a minimum requirement, you'll need to be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. To be considered for this role, you must be returning to university to complete your degree.
