Job Title: Building Control Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Control Inspector to join our team at ERGO Group AG. As a Building Control Inspector, you will be responsible for assessing and processing building regulation applications, working with builders and technical staff to develop excellent customer relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess building regulation applications for all types and sizes, acting as the primary contact for the client during the design phase.
  2. Ensure projects are checked and monitored with accuracy, completing statutory consultations in correct timescales and verifying design evidence.
  3. Contribute to the assessment of building regulation applications for other types of developments.
  4. Pre and post-design negotiations with clients to ensure effective compliance with Building Regulations and technical issues.
  5. Assist in resolving problems relating to Initial Notices, design approvals, site work, and final certificates.
  6. Examine detailed drawings and supplementary information in accordance with specified procedures and performance targets.
  7. Issue site and type approvals to clients promptly to specified standards and guidance.
  8. Advise/guide the industry and public regarding Building Regulations, technical issues, and company standards.
  9. Promote company services to existing and potential clients.
  10. Support inspection staff by providing expert advice and communicating key stages for inspection staff relating to complex Building Control elements.
  11. Carry out site inspections as required to meet business needs.

Requirements:

  1. Fully qualified Surveyor (MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB, or similar) with relevant experience is desirable but not essential.
  2. Technical knowledge of Building Regulations.
  3. Basic understanding of general insurance principles and terminology.
  4. Good understanding of construction standards.
  5. Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a team.
  6. Ability to manage own workload and work towards deadlines.
  7. Full UK driving license required.
