Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Psychotherapist to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide specialist mental health assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex and enduring mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide long and short term child psychotherapy to children, young people and their families/carers.
  • Be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, offering assessment, consultation, treatment and working closely with multi-agency partners.
  • Make reasonable adaptations to assessment and intervention processes to accommodate service users with learning disabilities.
  • Monitor clinical progress through regular reviews of psychotherapy treatment.
  • Coordinate and organise network meetings with professionals from other agencies and attend multi-agency meetings.
  • Provide highly specialist consultation for the multi-disciplinary team and to professionals of related and partner agencies.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing specialist mental health services to children and young people. The successful candidate will be an active member of the team, working closely with multi-agency partners to provide comprehensive and highly specialist child and adolescent psychoanalytical psychotherapy assessment and treatment.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be a registered Child Psychotherapist with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) and will have experience of working with children and young people with complex and enduring mental health problems. They will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team and will be able to work effectively with multi-agency partners.
