About the Role

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join its Estates Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of the hospital's buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with and carry out routine maintenance tasks, including statutory, mandatory, and planned minor repair works to a range of buildings and their components.
  • Liaise with the Estates Team Leader to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.
  • Undertake and assist with essential works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Estates Team Leader.
  • Be available in work via the handheld device system to contribute to the safety and welfare of patients and other staff, and respond to any incidents, fires, floods, or trapped patients.

Requirements

  • Qualified to level 3 vocational training, for example, plumbing, electrical, joinery, flooring, etc., or equivalent construction or building services experience.
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary organization.
  • Knowledge of basic construction methods or building services testing and repair of estates.
  • Health and Safety Awareness.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.
