Empirical Search Limited has been mandated to find a highly skilled professional to provide interim leadership to the Balance Sheet Management team for a period of at least 12 months. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the team and managing the bank's front office execution, including booking derivatives recommended by the ALM team. The bank offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the ALM team (6 people) and have a good understanding of liquidity and interest rate risk management concepts and techniques.
  • Manage the bank's interest rate risk exposure through the use of derivatives, typically interest rate swaps, in collaboration with the Director of Treasury.
  • Effectively manage drawings from the SMF (such as ILTR) to provide liquidity alongside the deposit raising operation.
  • Manage the bank's collateral pools with the Bank of England in relation to central bank funding schemes.
  • Lead the production of Treasury policies Funding Plan, Overarching Treasury Policy and Lending Commitments Policy.
  • Support the effective interest rate margin management of the bank's assets and liabilities through an effective Funds Transfer Policy.
  • Conduct projects and ad-hoc analysis for GEC, ALCO, Board Risk Committee and the Board.
  • Have a good understanding of the PRA regulatory landscape and the ILAAP as well as good knowledge of financial derivatives.
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification such as the AMCT, ACA, ACCA, CFA etc.
