About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist Outpatients, you will be responsible for providing a safe, effective, and consistently high-quality Speech and Language Therapy service to patients in our community clinic and specialist centre for neuro-rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders in patients with acquired neurological disorders and acquired brain injury.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.
  • Provide training and education to healthcare professionals, students, and colleagues on communication and swallowing strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of local policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in Speech and Language Pathology/Therapy.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Postgraduate training and experience in dysphagia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in handling work pressures and competing interests.
