As a Senior Procurement Professional at Hammersmith Council, you will be responsible for the direct line management of staff, including recruitment, induction, and work allocation to ensure adequate levels of service and support are maintained. You will facilitate and evaluate training and development needs, and operate the Council's grievance, disciplinary, appraisal, performance, sickness absence, and other Corporate and Departmental procedures as required.

Key responsibilities include overseeing customer focus, maintaining the highest standards of professional practice in understanding the customer base and its requirements, and developing and improving services. You will also be responsible for managing customer expectations and resolving customer complaints effectively.

Additionally, you will promote a culture where diversity and inclusion are valued, communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers, set out the Council's vision, and engage with integrity while collaborating with partners to deliver business objectives.

You will deliver on all key performance and service standard indicators for the Temporary Accommodation and Procurement service, ensuring all procurement functions are completed, including agreeing HoT's, service level agreements, and adherence to legal processes.

Key performance indicators include managing and responding to Members' enquiries and customer complaints within departmental, corporate, and legislative timescales. You will prepare written and verbal briefings and reports for senior management, Councillors, Members of Parliament, solicitors, and other agencies.

Maintaining detailed knowledge of relevant housing legislation, landlord and tenant legislation, and the Housing Acts 1985, 1988, 1996, and subsequent statutes is also a key responsibility. You will advise the Property & Place Manager on legislative changes impacting the service.

Ultimately, you will ensure value for money and a commercial approach to service delivery, managing risk effectively while empowering staff to innovate and resolve issues.
